Archives of the Protestant Church of the Church Province Saxony

In the so called „Magdeburger Kirchenarchiv“ all church records of the whole Regional Church are recorded on microfilms. It does not if it is about baptismal books, marriage books from the Börde or funeral books from the area around Delitzsch. Due to this substantial stock we are always able to do research for you fast and without problems on this vast field.

The picturization is not yet completed but already now over 7.000 microfilms are stored in Magdeburg and can be reviewed by users. According to our own estimation over 90% of the relevant church book stocks are included

... weil in Magdeburg fast alle Kirchenbücher der Evangelischen Kirche Mitteldeutschlands (größte Teile Sachsen-Anhalts sowie nördliche Kirchenkreise in Sachsen und Thüringen) auf derzeit mehr als 8.500 Mikrofilmen verfilmt sind.

... weil in Magdeburg das Landesarchiv Sachsen-Anhalt seinen Hauptsitz hat und auf Grund seiner umfangreichen Bestände gerade für Familienforscher sehr interessant ist.

... weil Magdeburg im Herzen des Landes Sachsen-Anhalt liegt und somit sind wichtige Archivstandorte (u.a. Wolfenbüttel, Hannover, Brandenburg an der Havel, Berlin, Dessau, Leipzig, Erfurt und Eisenach) schnell erreichbar sind.
